What Golf Has Taught Me
Feb 27, 2020
Two years ago I started playing golf.  My 1st year was full of lots of firsts... First set of clubs, the first round of 18 holes and first par. It was fun and I wanted to get better, so I began to work on my game, and the rest is history.   Now that my second season is completed, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on what I’ve learned this season. Here are just a few of my takeaways...
How To Set Goals To Improve Your Golf Game
Feb 11, 2020
I like to set three different kinds of goals throughout a year of golf. The first set of goals are the very attainable goals, so for example, play a round of competitive golf with no bogeys. Something that I can really focus on every round that I play. Then I like to go for a little bit of a harder goal to attain. For example, something like getting 10 top 5 finishes throughout the season.

My Pre Shot Routine
Oct 28, 2019
The pre shot routine is a very important process of preparation before hitting the shot in front of  you. It is essential to stay calm and focused on what you want to happen.  Just before starting my pre shot routine, I stand next to the ball taking in all elements of the shot. This includes the consideration of the weather conditions, the lie, the slope, the distance and club to name a few. After gathering such information I begin behind the ball, taking a few seconds to determine my target and exactly where I want my ball to end up.
Trust the Process

It only takes one mental lapse to let the game of golf deceive you.  It only takes one distraction to make a mistake. It only takes one small change to your golf swing to alter everything you practice, learned, and re-taught yourself.  It’s the game of golf, but it mirrors our quest in life to be that much better. As a college athlete (tennis), I never realized how much playing an individual sport would help me excel later in life.  Mental toughness defines you, make that your strongest attribute.
Junior Golf

First and foremost, the game of golf should be fun and enjoyable. But we all know it can be difficult at times. Junior golf has some of my best memories. Through junior golf I have made life long friendships. I have learned so many great lessons of patience, integrity, perseverance and sportsmanship, the game itself is extremely humbling.
